Quarantine is not especially ambitious, but it works well.  It is a remake of a Spanish horror movie called “REC,” and like its predecessor, it consists entirely of found camera footage. We’ve seen the found footage trick before (The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield), and here it is applied to a zombie-like “infection” that is straight out of 28 Days/Weeks Later and I Am Legend. But Quarantine takes its time with its characters, and builds up a surprisingly competent spook story.  Recommended.  Highly recommended for a scary movie night with friends.
